Frequently Asked Questions

What camera setup do you use?

I use a mirrorless Canon R6 and Canon 5D Mark 4 with various lens and flashes.  I bring a backup camera with me to weddings as well to be safe.  Here’s a breakdown of the Gear I Use.

Will you be the person photographing my wedding?

Yes!  I will be the person photographing your wedding.  I will also have an assistant/2nd photographer with me as well for weddings more than 4 hours.  If for any reason I absolutely cannot be at your wedding, I will let you know and send a photographer that has been on my team for years, to your wedding.  But I’ve worked weddings sick (wearing a mask) and almost about to give birth so I’m good to go =)

How long after the wedding will I get the proofs? Will they be viewable online?

Your photos will be up on a gallery 6-8 weeks.  You can share them with friends and family. You yourself will be able to download your photos from there as well. I will also mail you the digital files on USB as a backup. Here’s a look at my online galleries .

What is your photography style?

I am both traditional and photojournalistic.  I think everyone needs a traditional one to hang on your wall and most importantly for parents/grandparents to hang on their wall.  I love photojournalistic style to capture the emotion throughout the day.  I like to let the natural light lead me and and capturing things as they unfold.  Not have to say ‘wait! let me set up my lights around you….then ok do that again.’  I think it should capture the actual day you had.  like if it rained, i’d like to remember that it was a crazy rainy day, didn’t wanna ruin my dress but at some point i decided i just wanted to get married.  If  you have an amazing location, i love to get you with the landscape.  i mean if you have Jurassic park in your background, i will make sure you will see jurassic park.

What is your editing style?

My edits are mostly natural and light colors. I started from film photography, so the colors influences my editing style.  I don’t over photoshop, and  I won’t put a fake sky in your photos, unless we previously discussed it.   I will add a dinosaur to your photos if you are at Jurassic Park (Kualoa Ranch) though ….but only for instagram.

How many weddings have your photographed?

More than 400 weddings! I started back in 2008 and still doing it today!

Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?

Family and guests can take photos as well. No other ‘hired photographers’ because they can get in the way of us getting our shot that we need for you (first kiss, ceremony walk, etc).  Hiring another photographer is also a breach of contract.

If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay? Is there an additional charge?

My packages go by the hour, so choose the package that fits best for your wedding day. If you need to add an additional hour, try to do so before the wedding day. If you decide you need me to stay longer on the day of the wedding, then the rate is $450. If you add on an additional hour on the day of your wedding it’s $600.

How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan?

50% of the package is due to confirm your wedding date. The balance is due 30 days before your wedding day.  We can set up a payment plan in between that if needed.

Do you do videography?

No I don’t, but I work with a lot of amazing videographers that I can refer you to.

We are awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera, will that be a problem?

No of course not!  Perfectly normal to feel that way!  Even I feel it.  If you’re nervous I will definitely help you with poses and make you feel at ease.  I will pay attention to detail, fix hair if out of place, fix a veil, poof your dress, help straighten your posture.  I think it helps when we get to know you and your groom first.  So it helps for us to start from getting ready, or even engagement session.

Do you provide retouching, color adjustment or other corrective services?

I do retouching, color retouching, cropping, some blemish removal. Any additional retouching (removing a background, switching people, facial retouching on every photo) require an additional fee. My photos are more natural, so it’s ‘you’ on your wedding day.

What time will you arrive at the site and for how long will you shoot?

I usually arrive a little early to set up and scout the area, find where the best lighting is, etc. As for how long that depends on which package your choose and when you need us to start.  I can help you with that if you need.
