My Mia

There was a time when I thought I wasn’t able to have another baby.  I’d be bitter at people complaining about their pregnancies, or how they complain about the way their kids drive them crazy.   I came close to giving them ‘you should be grateful’ comments.  Lord knows I prayed for that.  It seemed like everywhere I went, every wedding I worked there was at least 1 pregnant person.  All I kept thinking was ‘NO FAIR!’

Ofcourse I was already grateful to have one.  Just thinking I wasn’t able to have another was pretty heartbreaking.

I was such a negative person then.

One day I found my book ‘The Secret’ that I had on my book shelf for a while.  It was pretty inspiring, so I followed it wanting to be more grateful, more positive.  Even thought positive about having that prime parking in front of the store, haha!

On 11-12-13 I found out the happy news, right before heading out to shoot my wedding.  I was grateful all through pregnancy, even through the sickness, aches and pains.   When the Braxton Hicks contractions came, I was saying how grateful I was through gritted teeth, hehe.

Our days have been happier, brighter, wonderfuller (that’s a word right?  haha) since she came into our lives.  I look at her and can’t stop thinking how blessed we are.  I enjoy her cries, melt at her smiles, and don’t even mind my new spit up perfume.  The 3 of us would fight on who gets to hold her.  It’s been so great, I even feel grateful to get up at 2 in the morning to feed her.

Welcome to the world baby girl.  We love you. Thank you Alisa Greig for taking our photos in film. mia-6 mia-9
