Oahu wedding venues | Hawaii Wedding Photographer

Being a wedding photographer in Hawaii, I’ve been fortunate enough to shoot couples in the most beautiful locations.  If you are a bride looking for a great venue, here are some of my favorites on Oahu.  It was hard to pick just 5!

1. KUALOA RANCH –  On the east side of Oahu located in Kaneohe, Kualoa Ranch has some of most perfect wedding spots, with epic views of the mountains, an ancient Hawaiian fishpond, and even a “secret island”.  It’s a popular tourist spot where visitors can go on ATV rides, movie tours, horseback riding and more.  But for weddings, there are 4 areas that really stand out.  If you are looking for an intimate garden setting,  Moli’i Gardens is perfect for a smaller gathering and it overlooks an ancient Hawaiian Fishpond.  For a larger gathering, the Paliku Gardens above the ranch offers an amazing view of Mokoli’i Island (Chinaman’s Hat).  If you are looking for something unique with a beach setting, then  the boat ride to Secret Island is for you!  It’s a secluded beach location with private views of Kaneohe Bay and Mokoli’i Island (Chinaman’s Hat.)  So romantic and perfect for that quintessential Hawaiian wedding.  And finally, Hale Nanea is a lovely open air lawn area bordering the ancient Hawaiian Fishpond with great views of the Koolau mountain range.  Kualoa ranch truly offers something for everyone.

2.  HALEKULANI HOTEL

For brides looking for a location in Waikiki, the Halekulani Hotel is an elegant and beautiful choice.  One of Waikiki’s original hotels and still one of it’s most beautiful, with the iconic Diamond Head as a background.  I love shooting weddings here because it is so serene and luxurious.  You can choose to have your ceremony at the Garden Courtyard, Hau Terrace or the Kawehewe lawn.  Brides will love getting ready in their bright, spacious rooms with great lighting.

3. LOULU PALMS

Another beautiful area for a beachfront location would have to be the Loulu Palm property.  With crystal clear ocean views and a gorgeous landscape, you feel like you are on your own private island when getting married here.

4.  MOANA SURFRIDER– a Westin Resort.

One of my favorite hotels in the heart of Waikiki is the Moana Surfrider.  This historic hotel was the first one built in Waikiki and over 100 years later still stands as elegant as ever.  I love the feel of this hotel, it transports you back to the old days with its vintage style and decor, and offers multiple areas for wedding photos.

5.  TURTLE BAY

For those epic sunsets and gorgeous north shore getaway, the Turtle Bay resort is the place to be.  This beautiful resort takes you away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu on to the beautiful coastlines of the north shore of Oahu.  Brides and grooms can choose to have their weddings at a quaint chapel or on the lawn of the resort.  There are many different packages to choose from.
